About

Ramiro Gorriti (Córdoba, Argentina, 1990) is a linguist, a musician and a photographer. He graduated in Philology from the National University of Córdoba with a thesis on Monteverdi, and trained in lyric singing. He practises the Gaga movement language daily, and is studying sound art at UNTREF.

He records as Ossstinato. Each record begins with music written before equal temperament and works it under one fixed constraint. Lamento della Ninfa (Ñ-records, 2025), which opened the Ñ—Scores series, took Monteverdi's 1638 madrigal through iterative live sessions into tech-house and solid-state techno. Les Boréades (Ñ-records, 2026), made with JHZ, reframed Rameau's last tragédie en musique as an ouverture of drones and overdriven strings, with a left-field house excursion on the flip.

Metaxu (2026) drops the sources and rebuilds their conditions. Five pieces on two systems of just intonation drawn from an analysis of Catherine Christer Hennix's music: sine tones fixed in pitch, passed together through a single saturation stage, where the difference between two high voices manufactures a low tone no instrument plays. What that low tone turns out to be depends on where the listener is standing in the room.

He photographs architecture, writes the texts that accompany each record, and works as a curator and DJ, with sets that put historical repertoire against club music. Ossstinato is the name for all of it: the same things come back in the music, the photographs and the dancing — pattern, relief and depth, reflection, texture, classical antiquity, vanishing lines.
